James F. Patterson (Ph.D. UTexas) is a Lecturer in Classics at the University of Texas at Austin. Dr. Patterson is preparing a book on memory, time, and narration in Augustine's Confessions and a series of articles on Aristophanes, Vergil, and Senecan drama as well as a Greek textbook from a diachronic linguistics approach. Broadly, his research concerns the appeal to religious beliefs in not explicitly philosophical genres, both Greek and Latin.
